3.5 Summary of activities

You will have heard some vivid accounts of life at Lennox Castle, and you will also have gained more insights into how people feel about the time they spent there. You will have considered, too, how an oral history account can add to what is known from other sources and how it may at times reveal aspects of the past that might otherwise not be known.

Interviewing people about their past requires skill if they are to feel comfortable and included in the process. You?ve been able to get a sense of Howard Mitchell?s interviewing style and also to compare the different settings in which people were encouraged to talk while being filmed.
