And whosoever relinquishes self shall see the end Love grieves not, for Love is the Eternal;

of his afflictions.

Love is not subject to birth and death, for Love is

Narrow and Low is the Portal of Humility,

Immortality.

But he that stoopeth, and entereth therein, shall

How illusory is the world!

stand for ever.

How fleeting and empty are the pleasures of the

world !

The Third Exhortation, concerning Love How real is Love!

How steadfast and full of peace is the life of Truth!

THE Love that is perfect,

How vain are the pursuits of men!

To this I exhort men ;

How heavy is the weariness of self !

Even to the Love of the Highest.

But the practice of righteousness is fruitful.

How beautiful to behold is Love!

And sweet is the peace of Truth.

How glorious to contemplate !

He who hath Love hath all things,

And in practice how sweet and full of gladness!

The Master dwelleth in Love,

To find Love is to find Perfection;

In Love the Great Reality abides,

To know Love is to know the Eternal;

And the wonderful Peace is only found by Love.

To practise Love is to manifest Truth.

The Purity of the Highest is there,

But how is Love found ?

The majesty of humility also,

How is it revealed in the heart ?

And he who adjusts his heart to Love is perfect

How is it practised and made manifest?

Seek self, and Love shall be withheld from you;

Not to be a partisan,

Seek Love, and lo! it is already with you.

Not to practise hatred,

Who seeketh enlightenment ?

Not to engage in strife,

Who seeketh Truth ?

Not to practise deception,

Who seeketh Love ?

Not to covet,

Let him that seeketh, come, and say,?

Not to retaliate,

" Open ! ye doors of Purity !

Not to condemn,?

Be closed no more, ye narrow portals of Humility!

Not to do all these is to find Love.

Swing open wide, ye everlasting gates of Love !

To put away prejudice,

And his voice shall be heard in the innermost

To rid the mind of pride and vanity,

places:

To disperse doubt and fear,

He shall not cry in vain, nor shall he lose his way.

To wash from the heart the stains of desire.

But shall pass through to his everlasting rest.

To purify the mind of every defilement,?

To do all these is to know Love.

Instruction, concerning the Master

To be always patient,

To be supremely calm,

TO the obedient and the ready ;

To be ceaselessly holy,

To all who are willing to understand ;

To be forgiving to the uttermost,

To those wandering in the darkness, and: unable to

And to be equal - minded towards enemies as

perceive the Light: ?

towards friends,?

Come now, and listen ;

To be all these is to manifest Love.

Come now, and be made glad;

Where Love is, Light is,

Enter now into the revelation of Purity.?

Where Love is not, there is impenetrable darkness. The Master is not perceived by the senses, Not comprehended by the reason,

perishable.

Not realised by argument.

Therefore, leave that to which thou clingest.
